Red Kites - Museum Visit - Pitt Rivers

Children in Red Kites visited the Pitt Rivers museum in Oxford to build up a picture of what life was like in Classic Maya AD300-900, to support our Amazon Adventure curriculum theme. We found out about clothes and appearance; calendars and gods; food and farming; leisure; weaving; materials and trade and modern Maya

There was a fun handling activity where children worked out the identity of mystery Maya objects, followed by an interactive guided tour of Maya objects around the Museum. Finally, children designed a Maya headdress.
