Year 6 took part in the Junior Citizens Trust safety event at Rewley Road Fire Station in Oxford. During their two-hour visit all children experienced eight different safety scenarios, and each child was given the opportunity to practise making a 999-telephone call. The interactive learning sessions taught children a variety of life skills, focusing on how to keep themselves safe whilst potentially helping others who may be in difficulty or distress. Based on the controlled learning experiences provided, children were encouraged to make decisions that they may face during a real-life emergency.
