Children in Years 3&4 have been researching pottery designs typical to the Roman Times to design and create our own pinch and coil pots. We looked at the skills involved with using clay, including smoothing, creating pinch holes and thinning, imprinting designs, attaching handles and decoration using cross hatching, and how to create coils and joining them to make a small pot. We then selected traditional Roman colours to decorate them.
